At Ullapool my friend and I got the full blast of wind across the campgrounds where we stayed,  storm “Hector”. Good thing was it whipped up the sea and there were some nice waves I managed to capture during “Golden Hour”.

The canvas is first prepared by applying a black gesso.

Using a silicone palette knife style tool, I began applying the details of the wave.

I also worked a layer of paint textured and following the flow over the black gesso.

This layer here is the first layer of carving the forms details.

Here I have added an idea also of light penetrating the water.

Almost another complete layer created with the same tools.

Adding another layer of light.

Details added to the wave and general working this layer.

Last section, tidying, tightening and adding light, the golden and white to the sea.
